The Ambleside Pub, which opened in early April 2024 in Mount Kisco at 23 East Main St., is a pub that models itself after similar establishments in the United Kingdom.
The pub serves up real cask ales like the Ambleside Best Bitter, which was created in a partnership with the Old Glenham Brewery and is served in imperial pints at 50-degree cellar temperature.
Other options include a selection of draft beers, cocktails, whisky, gin, and British pub food like Bangers and Mash, fish and chips, and shepherd's pie.
If you're wondering just how British the pub feels, take a look at several Yelp reviews from impressed visitors:
"Great true English pub! Food is excellent, ambiance very authentic, we LOVE this pub & will be back many times!!" wrote Vicky G. of Mamaroneck in a five-star review.
Kathy H. of Briarcliff Manor also left a raving review: "As a serious Anglophile, I was so excited that The Ambleside is now open daily at noon and I dropped in a few days ago for my first visit...Perfect Pub vibes, excellent chat with the charming and helpful barman Steve... delicious sausage roll! along with a sampling of the cask ale - perfection - could not be better!"
Gustavo D. of New York City also praised the eatery, comparing it favorably to the real thing in Britain: "It definitely has the feeling of a British pub. You order drinks and food at the bar. The beer is very close to the beer you can have at a British pub."
Ambleside Pub is currently open from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and noon to 11 p.m. from Thursday to Saturday.
